The design inspiration for Novociti Life came from its intended users. The vehicle is designed to serve extensively in urban areas, including historical and touristic districts and narrow streets. To strengthen the connection with its users, the team designed a softer, friendlier face for the vehicle. The interior space, while compact, meets the requirements of operators with its durable and spacious design.
Novociti Life stands out from its competitors by offering a low-floor urban public transportation solution at the lowest possible cost. Despite its small size, the vehicle boasts a wide standing area, easy access to the engine area, a specially designed driver cabin, and a handicapped area for disabled passengers. The vehicle's size and lightweight design reduce consumption and increase maneuverability, making it an efficient choice for urban transportation.
The vehicle’s chassis and main structural elements are made out of steel and aluminium, supporting an outer shell composed of sheet metal, fiber reinforced polymer, and tempered glass. The inner surfaces feature various polymers and composites. Despite the use of conventional production methods, Novociti Life is engineered to be lighter than its competitors.
The design process involved extensive benchmark and field research, along with gathering and observing user feedback and needs. The team faced the challenge of creating a smaller, lighter, cheaper, and more comfortable bus compared to its competitors. The result is a vehicle that offers the same passenger capacity with a smaller, lighter design, and the same comfort and accessibility features of a longer bus for both its driver and passengers.
Novociti Life has been recognized for its innovative design, winning the Golden A' Vehicle, Mobility and Transportation Design Award in 2018. The award is granted to outstanding creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics. With 8 design registrations and 15 patents pending, Novociti Life is not just a new vehicle, but a new standard in urban public transportation.
